The claim in the last post was essentially that blacks and whites do not mix. I completely disagree. There are examples of how our society has evolved from those former notions all around us; and these range from interacial relationships to a black man running for office. However, this is in our time. Back in the day, it was absurd to consider a black man being a part of a white man's family. Although unfortunate, we do still see these unfortunate acts of hatred between races today. One such, heavily publicized happening was when a man hired a hit-man to kill his daughter-in law because he thought it would be best for his son. And, the reason he though his son need help was, of course, because she was black.
Georgia Tech is a very integrated campus so there is not much evidence of racism. However, there is one fraternity house that is very proud of being southern and as such they display the confederate flag in plain sight. That is about as close to 'personal experience' as I have gotten to this matter; which is actually a very good thing.
